Make sure that the monitor is completely dry before powering it back on. This will minimize the risk of moisture damaging the internal components.
The best way to clean a LCD screen is to use distilled water and a microfiber lens cleaning cloth (I use 3M purchased at Wal Mart). I also use a small, plastic spritz bottle to hold the distilled water.
Be certain to spray the water onto the cloth (NOT the screen) and wipe lightly in both directions.
Forget the over-priced cleaning kits. Distilled water and a microfiber cleaning cloth will clean it like new, and the cloth will last for a couple of years or more (mine is over five years now).
Buy an cleaning kit with cleaning solution, and clean the display very carefully. If you apply too muck pressure you can damage the LCD display.
