Why Does ''Work Offline'' comes up/show

i am a installing a igi 2 covert strick game. and also install successfully. but when i play this game show the error massege (Please Insert disk 1 and restart the game. please help me.

It happen to me also so when you find out how to fix it post it here please im going nuts

if it freezes and then continues to move, this is definitely because your system might not reach the necessary system requirements. there are a few things you can do.
one of them is for you to go through the readme text in the game folder and look at the system requirements or the minimum system requirements if you would prefer that. this should show you where your computer is lacking.
another thing is for you to try to free up some space on the hard disk and also try to run less programs while running the game as this would help free some virtual memory for the smooth running of the game as the computer would be processing less data.
if you can acquire a copy of bit defender anti-virus, it would really help because it comes with a package called game mode which helps you to manage active tasks or processes while you play your game.

its not working cause your computer doesnt apply for the requiredments of the game. thats why that was happening to my game too or you probably you need the chip for the computer that makes the game the graphic more real.

Please try this it will work (hope so ) First u need to verify integrity of game cache

1. Load Steam
2. From the My Games tab, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache… button.
4. Steam will verify the game cache files (GCF’s) – this process may take several minutes.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
6. Run The Game

And if you want to play in offline mode, you simply make sure you are not connected to the internet, run the game and a box from the STEAM program will appear with a selection box with play in offline mode, click this and you away. Biggest problem is you will need to connect to the internet on a regular basis to log in to your steam account so steam can verify your login details, so therefore it is not totally offline, which for me is **** because i havent got the internet connection at the moment and i can no longer run the game in offline mode.

I hope this will sove your problem.

Please check the back of the packaging for your game and see that your computer meets minimal requirements also older games will not work due to age. If this game predates 2000 you may not be able to play it with out tweaking windows.

Try researching it, that's what i did when it happened with CoD:4 (online) it may be overheating, you're obviously not having red lights, try unplugging it COMPLETELY and putting it near an open window

well, in DOS the game Wizardy - Bane , still shows up the divide error msg

how ever, i decided to try to run the game in windows 3.11
and it worked!

i am happy.

so, this really wasnt a true fix, but more of a work around

casten what was the fix?
