Question about MTV Games Rock Band for PlayStation 2
Ive searched everywere for answers for this, ive herd that buying a new disc does not solve the problem. and i cleaned the lense and everything, nothing works. ive also herd there is a film on the disc that you can remove, idk if thats true but if you can help me i'd appreciate it!!!
We had this problem and I did an online search on how to fix your PS2. I found a great site that told us step by step and with picutres how to take apart the PS2, clean it, and how to adjust the laser eye. It works great now except our Rock Band 2 disc must be damaged because we have 4 songs that won't load. I suggest trying adjusting your laser eye (if your warranty is expired). If it is still covered I would send it in for the adjustments to be done. Once you open your PS2 the warranty is no longer good.

We had the same problem on a PS2 (thin) that is several years old. We tried exchanging the disk - same problem. We have a lot invested in the PS2 system and just bought several new games for it for Xmas so we decided to buy a new PS2 and see what happened. The Rock Band game works perfectly in the new PS2 with no issues.

Oftentimes, data on the memory called "cache" are left intact inside it should be re-set when you turn off your ps2 and then turn it on again. sometimes, it corrupts new data and the game can't put graphic( or even program files) data on the memory and thus, you can't play the game. also, either the processor or one of the supporting ram, rom or bias chips has been internally shorted or fried out over time.
