The hypeboard has failed. There are about 12 capacitors (surface mount) that need to be replaced. Unless you have very good soldering skills you shouldn't attempt the repair. The hyperboard will be marked with MVPU14 I believe. It should be located directly behind all your input connections in enclosed in a metal can. It is about 8" inch square module that plugs into the signal board.
The metal housing will need to be unsoldered from the signal board, before you can remove and service the hyperl board.
jhinsincity: you dont need to be here, do you? the problem are the caps on the hyperboard, 10 -16v@ 10uf, rear access right hand green board, model 57hx81, the hyperboard must desoldered from main board. read the post on wavy lines,,
Hi, Your Toshiba TV has hyperboard inside and there are few electrolytic capacitors (may be 10) that need to be replaced. If you are comfortable with soldering parts in PCB then go ahead or ask help to any friend that knows electronics stuff repair. Let me know further query. Thanks.
Found this person on eBay who repairs the hyperboard for $75 quickly with very positive feedback. http://myworld.ebay.com/kcarrigan/
I have the same problem and will probably send mine after the holidays.
Tom,
I'll send the svc manual directly following this post, but as a word of caution be EXTREMELY careful removing the smd caps. You can easily damage the traces and make the module useless.

Service manual won't help much in the hyper board and that's likely the problem.. Simply remove the hyper board and open the can. Inside you'll see a number of smd caps. There are 11 10mf/16v that need to be replaced...
