Maytag washer is full of water and is dead

I have a Maytag Dependable Crae Plus washer and during my last load the machine fulled up with water and just stopped. There is power so I know that's not the problem. I think it's the lid switch. Can I bypass pass the lid switch? I opened the top of the machine and I think that the lip switch is the black plastic assembly on the right. It has 2 units, a black one and a white one. i think the black one is the switch. can I just removethe 2 wire connections on either side of the switch and connect them? Will solve my problem for now? It's Dec. 28 and chances of getting a repair man before Jan. 05 ore slim and I have a 2 and a 3 year old at home which craete a lot of laundry. Any help would br greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This washer has a 2 switch system for making sure the lid is closed. you wont be able to just "bypass" it as they designed it to not allow that. what you need to do is replace the whole switch assembly. it comes with both switches and a fuse all together and that should make your unit run again.
you can change this yourself but be careful to get the wires onto the new assembly n the right places.

I have a brand new Maytag Bravos MCT top loaded washer. It makes a squeaky noise when agitator is cleaning. The squeak is getting louder and I've probably only used the washer a dozen times. We checked...

I had this one come up on a washer I had professionally installed for a client. When I looked into it I found there were shipping blocks made of squeaky Styrofoam the installers left in place. Only made the noise when it was full of water and working hard shifting back and forth in agitation. It said right in installation instructions to take the shipping blocks out too.

Washer smokes during rinse cycle. With clothes out of it, only the rinse cycle works. Breaker pops when trying to run a cycle with clothes in it. Water also does not drain

1. This could be due to a belt that is loose or if this is a "direct drive" motor then the bearings are gone and the motor need replacement.
2. There could be leakage ( water) from the pump hose spaying the motor and causing vapor.
3. There may be a exposed wire from vibration rub during the "spin" cycle and is grounding against the enclosure.
These are just a few scenarios that could be.
The unit will have to be open by a trained technician to give full disclosure of this issue.
I hope this helps. Have great day!

Should I buy a gently used Maytag dependable care plus model# LAT8824AAE washer? What's the reliability of this machine?

Maytag makes very dependable machines. They are fairly easy to repair and parts are easy to find. If I was in the market for a used washer, a Maytag would be my first choice. Since its used there is no guaranty that the thing isn't going to need repairs. If you can see it run through a cycle before buying it would be a plus. My first washer was a mid seventies model Maytag. I had two minor repairs twice in 15 years and its been working ever since at my buddy's. I hope this helps you.

Maytag neptune frot load will not reach full spin speed.

It will not spin while washing, it's more of a rocking back and forth. As far as the spin cycle. If it's not reaching full speed I bet you'll notice that it's not doing the full cycle because the load is bouncing around and cause the washer to shut off. take some of the clothes out and watch it spin the water out.

I think that you mean "Agitate" some of the time that you write "Spin" Yes?
If I understand you correctly, you have no agitation during the "wash" cycle, this is almost certainly a corroded agitator shaft seized up in the transmission.

Washer stops spinning in the middle of the spin cycle

Doe,s the water come on when it stops, it may have something to do with the balance of the washing load, if the water comes on it,s trying to rebalance it self.

My Maytag front loading washer does not fully rinse cloths MAH8700A. I purchased this washer about 6 months ago. I usually wash small loads but have noticed it doesnt matter what size load. When first...

Is the drain path free-flowing? That is, does the water eject freely during spin/rinse? Maybe there's a restriction in the line, or it's too high above the washer.
