No! it is not suitable for baking a cake, you would end with a real mess on your hands.

I have had this problem, I elected to purshase a cooler.
The cooler is just a device that sits under the laptop and plugs into the USB port.
Some laptops were not designed to be very cool, so they need some help.
You could google laptop cooler of if you have a BestBuy close you can visit them.

the unit is new one? if is, the unit have power? check your outlet and plug. if is all ok check the manual how to operate the unit if is new?
