Question about Alpine CDA-5755

Open Question

Equalizer I had this unit installed with MDA-7755, these particular units are from Japan, so the radio bands are different and of course they don't work in North America but my problem is the Equalizer and the special effects don't work. It always shows that the Equalizer is flat and of course the sound is the same. Surround sound shows "Normal" does that mean that is on or off I can't tell the difference. The installer said that he needs the installation manual to set the equalizer, is it possible to find one on line...I found the one for the MDA-7755 but I can't find the one I really need. Do you have one that I can download? Thanks for your help Nick

SOURCE: Installing Alpine CDE-9852 CD Reciever In A Ford Mercury Sable LS

well most commen tool is a phillips head screw driver (+) to remove components to get the old deck out you'll need a dash kit to mount the new radio in 15 buck from canadian tire or audio shop...
the easyest way to wire this up would be getting a harness to plug into the factory harness too get the color code and then u just make the connections red to red yellow to yellow makes it real simple that way... the other way is to get the hanes manual for your vehicle then find out what color each wire is then yu have to cut the factory harness wire up from the book takes alot longer but can be done its worth the 12-20 dollars to get the job done if you need more help ask

SOURCE: CDA-9813 No sound, will not eject CD

There is a very tiny dot located either on the actual face of the alpine head unit or on the front plate of the radio once the face has been removed. Once you find this dot(if on the actual face) you need to make sure unit has power turned on and witha tiny needle or pick you may push this reset buton in for about 2 seconds. The face will automaticaly fold down and the disk will eject itself. Once this is done do not place the same disk back into the unit. Hope this solves your problem

Change car stereo frequency from USA to UK

On many imported cars , the radios have options for different areas of the world (UK/EUROPE : ASIA  : USA+Americas  etc. )
If you have a MENU button  on your radio , see if you can find the Area choice option.
Once found , then it is just a matter of switching to the area required ( In your case UK/EUROPE)

USA - EUrope FM band stations frequency differences

I have a car stereo purchased from the US and I can’t pick up all radio stations in Europe/UK, what can I do?
If you have purchased a car stereo from the US you will find that it will not pick up many European radio stations. This is due to the fact that US radio frequency steps are different to here in Europe.
You may be able to set the tuner to European stations by following this procedure.
Press and hold down the SRC button to power down the unit completely.
While the unit is off press button 1 & 5 together, while momentarily pressing the SRC button.
If this does not work try the following proceedure;
Press and hold buttons 1 and 5 together, while momentarily pressing the reset button.
If this does not work then the unit is not designed to pick up European frequency steps.

Cd won't eject

I've had this happen to me twice now. Once on an 05 KJ, next on an 06 Rubi. Both times 6 disc changer. I've had to take it in to the dealership for warranty replacement of the unit, they then return my CDs. The last time it happened was after a particularly dusty wheelin' trip. This time when they swapped it out, the bass is completely **** up with no solution in sight. If you're out of warranty, I suppose you could try tearing into it to get it out, but that would be risky at best.

The manual appears to only be available in Japanese. Sorry. I have however been able to badly translate the japanese for the clock setting - check page 50 of the manual (page 17 of the pdf file). It reads: To set the Time: keep pushing "Disp 1" until you get the time set mode (possibly means 'hold down' not keep pressing) press "Clk Adj" for 2 seconds or more and the time blinks If you push "H" within 5 seconds you can adjust the time. push "M" to change the values, then if you leave it for 5 seconds it is set. The first footnote says this directly translated - sorry I have no idea what they mean on this one (i think carries means saves in this case)- "When liking to adjust to time signal, when ?the time? ?, CT? is pushed after the setting ?amount? indication becomes with ?00?. ?: When indicating which exceeds 30? when ?CT? is pushed, ?the time? it carries" Second footnote says this; You can do this procedure starting from any mode. Hopefully, with the pictures in the manual to show you which buttons they are talking about, this can get your clock set. If so, then if you want to try and translate other parts of the book, just copy and past it bit by bit into;|en seems quite good as these things go. Hope this helps, if not please ask again and tell me what you got trying the above procedure. :)
