Sorry, to be able to answer your question, one needs to know the exact model number. My Toshiba Portege i5... has a switch on the front left side, near the blinking LEDS. There is an image of an antenna near it. As to yours, I cannot say: I do know the exact model number.

Above the keyboard, there are some media control buttons (Illumination ON OFF, Play pause Button, Mute button, Volume increase and decrease button). To the left of the whole set of buttons you will find one that has the image of an anttenna. That is the WI-Fi switch. Alternatively you may be able to use the key combination Fn+F8 to enable/disable the antenna.

First check in device manager , under the network adapter tab, that you have an 802.11x card listed as present. Check in the properties screen that the device is listed as working properly

Try pressing Fn + F8 simultaneously.
That, aooarebtkt will enable/disable wifi.

Your machine is WIFI enabled. All laptops have been for the last eight to ten years. Toshibas are soooo annoyin though, so little information although they are good products

How do I enable the buttons to the right of the power button? These touch buttons are between the speakers, to the right of the power button, and are used to decrease and increase volume, mute sound, play...

If the buttons are blue, try holding down the FN key when pressing them. If they are buttons that are not on the keyboard, there is a driver to enable them that you should be able to find on the support site. Official Toshiba Support Toshiba Put in your model number or serial number and check out the drivers tab.

Sensitive j key

Hello there,

you can adjust sensitivity of your keyboard in Control Panel -> Keyboard.

If this is happening just with the J key, there might be some hardware issue with that(broken key). Try to replace it.

Hope this helps

How to connect my laptop toshiba l505 gs6000 to a

Look on the case for an ON/OFF switch, and be sure that it is ON.

Look for a special label on one of the Fnn keys;
it should look like a radio-tower.
Press the BLUE-coloured 'FN' key, and press that "radio-tower" key, to enable the wireless adapter.

Then, "View Available Networks".

Where can i find the hardware radio control switch

Do you mean for your wifi? If so it will be in your wifi card software. I do not know what card you have but its probably Broadcom open the program and there are three boxes on the top left one is to enable radio.

Wireless does not show up in Network Connections

Did you try - after switching on the "antenna switch" or WiFi hardware - to "Enable" the WiFi adapter, under (XP) Start - Settings - Network Connections - LAN or High-Speed Internet - Wireless Network Connection? (select, right click and select Enable)?

p.s. Once your WiFi hardware is recognized (by Win XP) there is (should be) always a "Wireless Network Connection" in your Network Connections, enabled or disabled, active or not.
