Question about RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player
I tried downloading the latest version of RCA Easy Rip, and when I opened it, I got an error message saying the file has been corrupted, and therefore, couldn't be opened. I can't find the software anywhere else on the internet, and when I tried to update the software the first time (using the version of that came with the mp3 player) it erased everything that was on the player, including the pre-installed software (which was an older version, but actually WORKED). So now, I have NO version of the software. The computer recognises the player, but there is no software for it.
If the easyRip does not work for you. Try this download media coder. http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/index.htm 0.6.1.4.8 works for me. After you install it. Goto Extensions click it. Home players. Then mpeg maker. It will ask you to remember my choice . Click yes. And enter these settings.
Mpeg-2 2.5 mbps (svcd) 25 fps 352X288 mpeg audio 224 kbps original 1 stream
this setting also works. Mpeg-1 2.5 mbps (svcd) 25 fps 352x288 mpeg audio 224 kbps original 1 stream Bitrate 194 ... once converted can drag and drop into opal and video will play. Its says its and mped but on opal shows up as an smf file. Works great and the video is better than the rca easyrip converstion tool. Hope this helps you alot
