Is this the same technology as the Optoma PI500? My pen is broken I need a replacement!
So my pen broke on my Optoma PI500. It is a wireless battery (aaa) operated pen. I use it to write and draw on the screen.
I can't seem to get a hold of a replacement from the Optoma comapny as the product is discontinued.
Is there any other company that makes a pen I could use as a replacement? I don't know much about the technology only that my pen is battery operated and it looks a lot like a Aiptek Hyperpen.
Aiptek is listed on the back of the monitor and their hyperpens look the same, but is it the same technology? I called them and their techi in California had no clue...

Try and replace the battery with a new one, sometimes batteries in new devices might be flat. I would also advice to get latest drivers for device from manufactures website and reinstall them. If that don't work I would guess pen might be faulty. See if device is still on warranty. I hope this helped. Good Luck
This may be a processor issue, as mine does this too.
As for others, most issues surrounding the stylus are battery related.
I will help anybody with a broken, or inoperative stylus/pen get their pen operating again. I have started a business around this issue because so many people's pens are malfunctioning (including mine originally which drove me to do this). This was fueled by Gateway's lack of caring around the issue, and their attempts to charge ridiculous fees for customer service. I charge $20 to switch out the battery to get your stylus working again, plus shipping and handling both ways, about $25 total.
