Question about KDS K22mdwb LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Sudden color distortion

The display of my KDS K22MDWB sometimes goes irridescent - white becomes a purple/pink, yellow turns bright orange; even on dvd's; cannot predict when it will happen or when 32 bit colors will show properly

This can happen if there is a poor connection of the VGA cable - tighten the screws on both ends, just in case one is loose

My background on my screen recently developed a purple hue to it, instead of a white. Can this be corrected?

This is likley a problem with the monitor's signal cable. Try moving the cable around steadily and see if the color suddenly goes back to normal or changes to a yellow hue. If this is the case and you are able to remove both ends of the cable then a replacement can easily be purchased from a local computer store or online. (Try www.amazon.com or www.monoprice.com).

The KDS has an 'OSD' ("on screen display").
Press one button on the front of the KDS to activate the OSD, and navigate through its various menu-items, to find the "reset" control.

Do you get the 5vdc for logic circuits and 12~18vdc for the inverter circuits. Please recheck your soldering works, make sure the caps are installed with correct polarity. See some of my examples here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

The screen color is off. It looks yellow, pink

Try changing the connecting cable. You seem to be connecting it with a composite cable which might have loose pins.

White Display

Here is two solutions:

1. Grab a LCD Color Tester, Run it through RGB.
- If it is still white its the LCD
-If it not at all either the inverter board is bad or the mainboard.

2. Sometimes its brightness control, look under the manual.
