Question about Sony BDP-S300 Blu-Ray Disc Player
You need to get the previous firmware from their site and downgrade it. The new firmware is probably having issues with some older media. I just got a Samsung and in the manual there was a section on media compatibility that said media compatibility was not guaranteed and not all discs are guaranteed to work. I think the standard is still going through changes that may render some discs unplayable while enabling others that were not supported before.
Check the Sony site to see if they have older firmware available. If not you may need to contact tech support and report the issue so they can release a new update that addresses the issue you are experiencing.
