have you tried to use the mic on different application like skype or example . but at first go to start and type in the search bar sound recorder and see the recording gauge if it goes up and down if you speak . if it doesn't then there is a problem with the mic setting please identify if it works first
It will be good to test the microphone in the sound recorder to see if the driversa re supporting , if not reinstall the drivers or choose to set to a earlier restore point.
If the mic is working good it must be seen if the Skype and messenger has some conflicts therby disabling the mic.
So take chance and uninstall the messenger to try if the fault clears. If not uninstall the skype and check with the messenger.
If the mic is not working at all it can be a hardware issue , a fault of the mic.
Hi bob_durek assuming you have the same problem with MSN messenger or any other software, please go to start -control panel- Sound. Then click on the voice tab and Audio tab and see under Voice Recording you see a device, meaning your mic. If you do see a device, click on Volume and make sure the "Select" is checked. Restart Skype and run the audio wizard to make sure everything is working. Dont forget to rate if my answer helped you. Thank you :D
on skype screen go to TOOLS>OPTIONS>SOUND SETTINGS, WHAT DO YOU SEE NEXT TO MICROPHONE LINE, IF THERE IS ANY AVAILABLE MIC ON THE SYSTEM(LAPTOP), THERE SHOULD BE AN OPTION FOR IT, JUST CHOOSE RIGHT ONE FROM THE LIST AND TEST YOUR MIC, THERE IS ALSO TEST BAT UNDER THAT LINE...
With Skype for it to work properly & every time you really should get a USB Headset. or Mic, That is Skype capable. A small outlay will get a real great result. Because even if you do get your Mic to work, it is never work as good and often echo's a lot,
Hi there. Try this >>>>> right click on the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right hand side) select open volume control, when the window pops up, click on the options tab and select properties and check all the boxes has a tick in them (including the mic) then save you will now see the microphone properties make sure it not muted and the level is fairly high. you should now be able to hear each other. Please post back for any additional advice if needed.
You need to check if the mic/s is working?
Are you certain the Logitech webcam has a built-in mic?
To check if the mic works go to Start - All programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound Recorder and test record your voice and play back to check, also try it with the laptop's built-in mic (if it has one) and the Logitech mic.
If both mics work then you have a choice of which one you can use in Skype, most likely the best one would be the Logitech one.
You need to configure your audio settings in Skype. When you open Skype click on Tools - Options - Audio Settings and click on Select Microphone and select the microphone you are using and save the setting.
