Question about Sylvania NB500SL9 Blu-Ray Player
If you used an HDMI cable then no extra audio cable is needed, but if you hooked it up differently then you need the audio cable in order to get sound. Hope this helps.

There's a section in the book that talk about audio you have to set the blu-ray on the right setting for the sound to go to your speaker. hope you can do it i had the same problem with mine. pierre

Not to state the obvious but try turning the player off and then back on. This worked for me when I had the same problem.
