Green light is on but no picture visible, black screen

Ok we have to resolve the extent of the problem before diagnosing it. Does the black line/green bar show on all inputs and the tuner? Is it visible in the OSD (on screen display)? if yes to all of these questions, it could be a panel drive problem or a bad plasma panel. A picture would help diagnosis

according to your observation we called abnormal picture & common mode choke coils are defective l3000,whech are near to LVDS connecter there are 3 coils & must change all coils after replacing these coils your set will ok

Sounds like maybe power supply, but I would check with flashlight 2 in from screen when the green light comes on to see if you have a picture, if so then you have a bad inverter board, if not then power supply problems. You can look for bad or bulged caps in PS

you may be on the incorrect input channel. look for an input or tv video button and choose each input until u get a picture

The light should come on steady. Your monitor most likely has the typical failed capacitor problem. The Power Supply board in the monitor most likely has some capacitors that have failed, visible signs include swelling of the ends of the parts, but they can fail without showing any visible sgns. Replacement of the capacitors often restores operation.

This is not a simple question to answer without looking at it, my recommendation is to call a service center in your area. That's my professional opinion.

If the power supply outputs are good! Then I would say the back light inverter is bad! If the screen stays black and does not come on.

Sounds like a convergence promblem.

Here are some of the most common symptoms of a convergence problem.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence or magic focus section.

Try to adjust the convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Its a fairly easy fix on the Hitachi sets.

The problem is called green geometry.There is nothing wrong w/the green pix tube.It is critical to get the green geometry

accurate because the red and blue convergence overlays on

the green.If you have more than an alignment issue,that will need

repair before adjustments are attempted.
