call support from manufacturer on how to reset your player, For instance, on Samsung players after it is powered on you hold in both channel buttons for 10 sec and the player restarts. that fixed mine that had the same problem
You need to get the previous firmware from their site and downgrade it. The new firmware is probably having issues with some older media. I just got a Samsung and in the manual there was a section on media compatibility that said media compatibility was not guaranteed and not all discs are guaranteed to work. I think the standard is still going through changes that may render some discs unplayable while enabling others that were not supported before. Check the Sony site to see if they have older firmware available. If not you may need to contact tech support and report the issue so they can release a new update that addresses the issue you are experiencing.
i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.
I couldnt get the blue ray format of kung fu panda to play in my sony blue ray dvd player. the previews and the menu screen run properly, but when i push play movie, it shuts down the dvd player. can anyone help?
That's exactly the same problem as I have, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Used to solve it by turning off at the plug and restarting. Now won't load up at all though. I love the machine - when it works - it just isn't very often!
