How do i get my insperation 8500 onto the internet

When youclick Refresh network list, then Choose yourwireless network and then click Connect to your secured WirelessNetwork, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connectinto your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, orWPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphraseis an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuringthe wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop/computer,please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I have a Dell Latitude D600. I can connect to the internet if my computer is plugged directly into my modem. When I disconnect from the modem and try to access the internet using wireless, I can not...

Your computer may be picking up the wireless networks in your area including yours but you still require to configure your computer to the router for which you will require to go through the manual which came along with the router/modem. If you are a computer savy man you can do it yourself otherwise you will require services of technical person.

Broadband wireless adapter limited connectivity issues

If the wireless security on the router is enabled, then the pre-shared key or encryption key on the router and PC should match.

To check the wireless settings, use the laptop to access the web interface of the router. Follow the steps below:

1 Using your Internet browser, go to http://dsldevice.lan or to the IP address of your router (by default: 192.168.1.254).
2 On the Home Network menu, click Wireless.
3 In the upper-right corner, click Details.
4 The wireless Access Point page appears. Under:
- Configuration, you can find the network name (SSID).
- Security, you can find the encryption.

On the PC wireless, access the wireless network connection. Select the SSID and then type the encryption key or pre-shared key.

Once the encryption key on the PC and router matches, then you should obtain an IP address and get online.

Want to connect my psp online through my router.

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Wireless Settings (under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase.
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless computer to the router's wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new Password and click apply. You will then have to use the same Password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Internet says limited no connectivity when i plug my computer to wireless router through ethernet. am i doing something wrong?

Hi,

Limited or no connectivity means that the computer is not recieving an IP address from the DHCP of the router. The very first thing I will suggest is to reset the router.

Press the reset hole on the back of the router for 10 seconds while it is powered on. Turn it off and then turn it back on after releasing the reset hole. The computer should show the connection as connected after that. However, you will have to reconfigure the router as resetting will revert it back to default settings.

Good Luck

Cannot connect to my Netgear WRG614 v6 router. My Dell laptop shows an excellent connection but it says limited or no conectivity???

if it says limited or no connectivity, it means that there are a couple of settings that needs to be configured for your wireless connection. click on start > run> connections> wireless connection >when you see your wireless network, try to disconnect from the network and try to connect again using the right wep key (if you have it enabled). or you can try checking the wireless properties. start > run> type in ncpa.cpl and hit enter. right click on wireless connection and click on properties. highlight tcp/ip and click on properties. make sure that the settings are set to obtain automatic. hope this one helps.

My laptop finds wireless router but will not connect to internet

Hi there. You may need to connect to the wireless network manually. What is the operating system running on your computer? If XP, you may follow these. (This is also applicable in other operating system, it may just vary a little) Right click the monitor icon showing on the system tray near the clock. Point the mouse in the icon and it will display the name if it is wireless network connection or network connection. Right click the icon and look for view available wireless network. If it is not showing, look for network connection. Right click and select "open network connection". Right click wireless network connection and select "view available wireless network" . Look for the wireless network you're trying to access or have connection.Highlight and click connect. If encrypted, you need to supply the pass key or security key twice and hit connect. It should allow you now to go online wirelessly. Please remember these, you should be able to go online wired. Make sure that there are other wireless computer connected to the wireless network you're connecting with and can go online wirelessly.

Hope this help :)

Not able to connect to internet

1. try to check the status of the connection:
make sure it is connected and the status does not say either of the ff:
a. local only
b. limited or no connectivity
c. limited access only

2. try to change the network name [ssid] and the network key [wep or wpa passphrase]
you can change this by accessing the ipaddress of the router or its user interface

3.try to reconnect to the new network name
and make sure the status says connected.

this is not a browser issue . it is with the connection set up.

Home networking

hi dear

try this

  1. Before you attempt to use any Wi-Fi network, find out what the SSID, Channel, Mode and WEP key are. Some Wi-Fi locations do not require a WEP key. Many Wi-Fi providers have this information on their web site or when you purchase access you will be provided the information.
  2. Ensure you have a firewall program installed and running. This will protect your data.
  3. Start up your laptop and once booted, look for the Wi-Fi network icon in the bottom right of the screen.
  4. Click on the Wifi Connection icon on bottom right of screen and you should see a window that indicates connection, strength and duration. Click on the Properties tab.

  5. wirelessnetworkscreenbl.jpg

  6. The next window will show the type of networking card installed. Click on the Wireless Networks tab.

  7. 02ee437.jpg

  8. Once the Wireless Network Connection Properties window is open you will have two options depending on how you set up your laptop.
    • If you do not see any networks listed in Preferred or Available networks, you will have to manually add the SSID. Click on Add. You will have to enter the SSID and WEP key (if required). Click OK and you should then see the network you just added in the Available networks box.

    • 4d25eb5.jpg

    • If you see the correct SSID showing in the Available Networks, then you need to click on Configure in order to enter the WEP key if that is required.

    92752af.jpg

  9. In the next window, enter the SSID for the Wi-Fi network you want to access. Make sure you do not have CAPS lock or NUM lock while entering the information. If a network key is required, click on "Data Encryption and then enter the Network key you have been provided with. Again make sure you do not have CAPS or NUM lock on. Click OK when entered. If you have entered the key incorrectly a message will pop up and you will need to re-enter the key.

  10. fccfda9.jpg

  11. Next go to Start - and where it says Connect To click on that and you should see choices like in the graphic below. Click on Wireless Network Connection and it should work.

34b0a7b.jpg

There are occasions when the connection doesn't work, in these cases check your firewall software and make sure it allows you to connect to the Wi-Fi network. To check this, disable your firewall software and check the connection again. If you can connect with the firewall program disabled, you change your settings. If your firewall program is not the problem check the SSID and WEP key information that you entered. Both of these are case sensitive. If you had obtained SSID information from the Internet, check with someone in the establishment to see if the SSID has been changed.

oke post in me back

i hope this usefull for you

thanks
