I cannot get sound through the Toyota wireless headphones that are supplied with the built in DVD player. Any suggestions as to something that I am overlooking. I had sound previously but not anymore.

First thing to do is check to make sure that the batteries are properly charged.

Second, make sure that you have a clear line-of-site to the IR transmitter. Infrared (IR) works the same way that your TVs remote control works - if the signal is blocked, then you will not hear any sound.

Third, make sure that you are in the rear seat of the vehicle when listening to the sound. The IR transmitter only transmits to the rear seat, so you will not hear any sound if you are sitting in the front seats. This is a common problem that i see.

Lastly, make sure that the heapdhones you purchased are compatible with your 2006 2007 2008 2009 or 2010 Toyota Sienna. Remember that some older models require RF headphones, not IR headphones. I checked http://www.audiovideo2go.com for compatibility before I purchased my headphones. They have a useful listing of all the headphones and models of vehicles they are compatible with.

2 problems to fix.

One - check batteries in headset. REPLACE with fresh ones anyway.

Two - Make sure your radio button is selected to allow the inferRed feature to be ON. Sometimes it looks like a speaker symbol on without the slash thru it. Check your manual to be sure on that!

Tview in dash dvd

Let me make sure I understand this. When you have a DVD play in English, you get a buzzing noise in your wireless headphones. But if it plays in Spanish, it sounds fine? Does this occur with every DVD, or just a certain DVD? Have you tried listening to it without the headphones - using car speakers. If so, did you have the same problem? If you can answer those questions for me, I can try to figure out what's wrong here.

The problem could be that the outputs in the stereo are faulted. Did you get a warranty when you bought the stereo?, if not you may want to take it to a repair shop and ask for a diaognosis.

DVD sound

Go to your local radio Shack and get the tape adapter that you need. It's a cassette w/ a wire connected to it, you put that into your tape player then the cord/wire plugs into your DVD player and you'll hear the movie through your car stereo. I have one and that's what you need. Enjoy! :)

Car DVD player will only play sound through wireless headphones, not through speakers

We have a GMC Envoy which also does not allow us to play the sound from the dvd player through the car's speakers. Although we purchased the vehicle new with the dvd player already installed, it was installed by the dealer, making it after-market. I assume those that were installed in the factory work differently. Maybe this is the case with your's as well. Good luck!!

Wireless Headphone not working with my portable DVD player

Firstly, make sure your DVD have built-in IR wireless module so that your headphone can receive the audio signal from your DVD player.

Second, it should be clear which frequency transmitted from your DVD player. Generally speaking, there are two frequency of IR transmitter. One is 2.3MHz/2.8MHz. another is 3.2MHz/3.87MHz. Only emission frequency same as receiver can receive the audio signal.
