Games don't work

The solitare and other games do not work on the laptop. They used to but now when I turn on the computer an error comes up in the beginning saying some files were lost and the games file doesn't work.

Try and go back to programs and features on the controlpanel and see if the files are present for the games. If not, contact microsoft and they can help get new files for the game. Try the first swolution before because I believe that it will be much easier.

I keep getting messages that tell me I have many errors on my computer. One company with whom I accidentally thought was you told me it was going to cost X amount to fix. Norton which is on my computer...

If your computers running OK ignore them they are after your money. If you are running Microsoft Windows do the routine maintenance once a week.Use file checker and the defrag tool
and the delete browsing history tool, also find the add and remove programs tool and remove games and programs you don`t use.But be careful and make sure you don`t remove system files. You will probably still get error messages but ignore them or do a reinstall of Windows and start afresh with a clean system.I don`t like Norton and use the free Microsoft Security Essentials program and have never had a problem.

My dell is too slow even if i am playing computer games. why?

Your Dell laptop has low RAM/high CPU usage, a lot of games tend to use high CPU, so your laptop could be a little old for newer games, so you should upgrade it, or you have a lot of files on your laptop and maybe you opened to much high CPU usage programs.

Why don't games work when loading?

PC games require specific video requirement, and there is a good chance your system doesn't meet those requirements.

Graphics engine error

Hi,

I don't know if you were receiving this error for the same reason I was. I had just purchased a new LCD Flat Panel display and the game absolutely hated the monitor. The resolution I had set for the previous monitor was apparently causing the error that prompted the "/safe" parameter message. Since support dragged their butts in offering a solution, I ended up seeking out help elsewhere online and found this website: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

They deal in solutions for playing a wide variety of games that may not have any support for widescreen.

They offered a most simple solution. The safe meesage appears to come up because the game does not like starting in the resolution you have the game set at.

Their fix is simple. Scrap the "/safe" command that the game is asking you to use.

Go into the game data folder and find the file DATA/ufo-et.ini and then edit the height and width parameters to a lower resolution OR if you are in fact using a widescreen monitor edit the resolution to the default resolution the screen runs best at and then resave the file. Restart the game and the "/safe" message should go away. Worked like a charm for me.

Let me know if this helps

Cheers,

Robin

Potential Heat Damage?

alot of the games require that a certain video card be used for otimal graphics. your laptops computer could very well have a card that is not up to the challenge of running those games. if you can watch movies and play music and all that other stuff it might just be that. the card you have in your laptop is just not up for the task. my personal opinion and on i am in the process of doing is building a gaming computer. use the laptop for work related things or school related things and the desktop for gaming.
