Dvd player problem

Dvd Player Problem
I have this Pansasonic TV and I've had it a little over a year now. For some reason I play a dvd and after a short period of time the movie freezes/skips/pauses for about 1 min. Then I get the error message saying "Please check disc for stains/scratches? I have tried lens cleaners on it as well to attempt to fix the problem. Is there any advice you can give me?
