Dumping too much water over flow there stand pipe drain ?

If that is occurring, it is usually due to one of two things:

1. The standpipe is not properly vented, thus creating an air lock when the washer drains
2. There is a restriction in the drain line somewhere causing a backup.

If neither of these is the case, you may need to drain the washer to a laundry sink to let it drain at whatever rate the drainage system will allow.

I occasionally have a sewer gas smell near my washer. But after I run the washer, the smell will go away for a few days. What could the problem be?

Hi Joe

Is that pex pipe on the right your water supply to the washer?

Your sewer gas smell I believe can be eliminated by putting a P trap in the drain PVC line.

(EDIT)
Where the drain hose from the washer hooks into the PVC pipe is NOT airtight which would allow the sewer gas back into the laundry room!

(EDIT EDIT)
If there is a P-trap in your outflow pipe, the only place left for grey water to collect (and stink) would be between the washer and where the waste hose goes into the drain. We've had to use a little bit of bleach on occasion when we haven't used the washer for a bit.
Hope this helps

While moving my samsung top washing machine, I think my drain hose pipe has moved down the water level. Now machine is not able to retain the water while washing/soaking. I need to pull the drain hose pipe...

Hi,

Although a few modern washing machines can operate with the drain pipe at any height, most machines will drain the water as soon as the drain pipe is placed below the machine water level.

The simplest solution for your problem would be to ask somebody with some handy man skills or hire a plumber to add a 2 inch PVC pipe to your drainage pipe which extends to a point behind your washing machine & then points upwards, making sure it is long enough to be at a higher point than your machines fullest water level.
This should be a relatively inexpensive alteration & will ensure that water does not drain unless the machine is on its drain cycle.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best wishes,
Graeme

The last 3 times after using my top load Kenmore clothes washer, a mud spot (1/2" diameter) keeps reappearing in the bottom of the cylinder. Should I use draino to clean the drainage system or clean the...

DO NOT use Draino or any other drain clog removal chemicals to clean a washer. It could damage the tub seal, drain lines and/or pump & impeller. If you wish to clean the washer, you need to access the drain pump and remove the drain lines and flush them out. The following link explains how you can access and remove the pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3794382-replacing_water_pump_whirlpool_top

I would recommend you UNPLUG the washer and take it to a location where you can flush water through it. Preferrably outside, or in a garage. If you lie the drain hose on the floor and fill the wash tub with a garden hose, simple gravity will flush water through the tub basin, drain pump and drain lines.

If you have any questions about these procedures, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

NOTE: The drain pump has only one moving part (the impeller). It is a common place for debris to collect. Remove the two drain hoses on the pump to inspect.

Water overflows from drain pipe

2 ins is rather small and there may also be a partial blockage somewhere in the system you are not aware off.
a naughty cure is to restrict the drain hose of the machine so water comes out a bit slower

The height is usually marked behind the machine. It is approximately 3 feet from ground level. The machine's pump pumps the water OVER this height into the drain.
