Question about U.S. Robotics (USR8054) Router
I've been having the same problem where even hard wiring to the router won't work. I called USR and they had me reset to factory defaults. Now three days later, the same behavior is happening. I reset to factory defaults and it works again but I don't know for how long. Maybe these things just wear out after a while...who know.

Yes you should be fine. You have to configure the router before you can access the router, That should be covered in your manual. Also look for a button or switch on your computer that turn your wireless on and off. Make sure this is set to on.

Here's how I did it. I went to usr.com. Selected the type and model router which accesse the on-line product manual. Followed the instructions and using the cntrl-F keys search on 'password" finding the IP address to place in a new browser window address. I selected the "Basic Settings" menu then selected the password option and over-wrote the ************ showing is the Admin section and User section. Got ride of the (unsecured) indication on my icon. It was bothering me to death also. Hope this helps. email@example.com
