Our second guitar is having the same problem. Although it worked initially...maybe for like 3 hours, it then quit. We've tried resyncing the wii remote, using the sync option on Guitar Hero World Tour menu, restarting the wii altogether and unplugging everything. Please help.......!! My twins are driving me crazy and very disappointed!

I was told to "press the buttons at the same time". Don't exactly know what that means, might help. But I'm still confused.

Start the guitar hero game as you normally would. then take the remote that you are going to put into the first guitar and press the "home" button", this should bring up a screen that will allow you to connect another remote in the game, press the reconnect area and aim both remotes at the sensor and press the 1 and 2 button at the same time, exit this screen and then got multiplayer section of the game and you should be set. my 10 year old neighbor had to show me this. good luck..

I had the same problem, couldn't sync 2nd guitar. I figured it out. In the Wii system instructions it mentions that the controller that comes with the wii should already be synced (just push the red button in the controller where the batteries are. The second controller needs to be synced with the wii consul. So, at the same time, push the red sync button in the controller, and in the wii consul (it is found under the reset button, you will see a flap, or door, it is inside that flap, and it is also red), press the sync buttons at the same time, let go, and you should be good to go. It worked for me, hopefully it works for everyone else.

Here's how:

1. Remove the second Wii Remote's battery cover and insert two AA batteries into the device.
2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Push and release the console's "SYNC" button.
3. Push and release the "SYNC" button below the Wii Remote's batteries.
4. Wait for the Wii Remote LED to stop blinking.
5. Replace the Wii Remote battery cover.
6. Snap the Wii Remote into the back of the second Logitech Wireless Guitar Controller for Wii. Your second guitar will then use your Wii Remote's power and synchronization to the console and respond to Guitar Hero.

Hope this helps!

Just bought a second hand guitar, turns on lights

Have your synchronized the controller to the xbox? To do this, there is a button on the front of the xbox and one usually on the bottom of the guitar hero controller. hold both of these buttons, the lights will circle then when its synced they should stop and resume being player indicators. If this doesn't work, return the guitar to the shop you bought it from.

I just ordered by son a guitar for "guitar hero III" for Xbox 360, but it will not operate. Do you have to buy a special guitar for different "guitar hero" games?

I need a wireless receiver for guitar hero III, legends of rock

You can use any of the Guitar Hero Wireless guitars. The best I think is the one that is bundled with the World Tour version, has a smoother action (retails around £44.99 but check bundle costs first).
It has slider bar that isnt used in Guitar Hero 3, but will be better if you decide any of the future releases of guitar hero coming out later in year.
Hope that helps?

Syncing with Rock Band.

From Harmonix spokesperson: "Support for the GHIII guitar peripherals in Rock Band on the Wii was not possible without Activision's permission. Therefore, any questions regarding lack of compatibility with GH III hardware should be directed to Activision."
