Question about BenQ FP757-12 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

My BenQ FP757-12 monitor stopped working

I took it apart and there is a burned capacitor on the board in space c736. I was wondering what capacitor to replace it with as it is far too burned to tell. The surrounding ones are both labeled as 27j.3kv

you tube has many videos showing how to do.Basically you have to pry it apart but do it once then next time easy.

I commend your courage in taking your monitor apart. I hope it was out of warranty when you did it; because it is out of warranty now.

I have no idea where to find the info you are looking for. Monitors are cheap now, though.

LCD monitors behaving in this fashion more than likely have a faulty inverter. Refer www.lcdparts.net for solutions.

look for capacitors with the tops bulging .. these are high failure rate chinese made capacitors .. they made zillions of them and they fail frequently .. replace any that have buldging tops (should be flat with over pressure vent lines impressed)

dreaded capacitor issue. benq's were famous for it. if you are handy with disassembly and careful you can take it apart and do it yourself. look for any capacitors with rounded tops. i fixed one ... the part is only two dollars or so but it's a good feeling to know you fixed it instead of tossing it.

There is usually an identical resistor somewhere else on the circuit board, so if you cannot read the colors of the burnt one, you can read the colors from an identical resistor on the same board. If you just replace the resistor, it will probably just burn out again or damage another component, you have to find the cause of the resistor burning out, most likely an electrolytic capacitor failing. Look for bloated or seeping capacitors and replace those as well. Also look for broken or burnt toroid coils.
