I just posted a comment on this cam recently...
I bought a new cam and my vivitar is going spare mate.
As i suggested in my last comment, i am happy to give this away for free..
If ur hapy to pay whatever minimal postage it would cost, I would be happy to give youi my vivitar 3720, its rarely been used, (once last year for a 2week holiday)
Let me know if it would be of any use to you Terence..
I'm sure it's not worth spending any money on getting it repaired, given the cost of new cams now.....
I'd be hapy to forward mine on to you, i have no use for it anymore...
I just bought the Vivitar mini digital camera and everything installed really well but when i click on "My Camera" it say "cannot connect to camera". My camera is plugged in to the USB port properly and it shows PC on my camera but i cannot get the pictures please email me at email@example.com if you know how to help! THNX!
Selecting the "format" option in the menu will wipe off your images. basically it reformats the memory card.
I would get a card reader, if you havent done so already. I worked with a student today & for some reason we couldn't transfer images from his camera directly to computer via usb + we were getting some error messages when trying to do so.
So, I ended up taking his memory card out & used a memory card reader to transfer the images to 'puter and it worked fine.
It appears that you have dust on your sensor that is recording in the same place on each image. It is a common problem with digital cameras.
If you are adept at cleaning the sensor yourself, it is a relatively easy chore.
However, if you have any doubts about it, take it to a reputable camera dealer and let them do it.
