Question about Samsung TXN2726 27" TV

Color gone There is no color in picture, except for a broad circular area in the middle, mostly green, with a couple of other-colored rings around that. Is this something easily fixable? By me? If not how much and is it worth it. The picture is also not very sharp.

Re: color gone

Try running a small magnet in circles from the centre of the front of the screen, you may find you may be able to "push" the problem off the screen. As snakehead commented, it's likely to be caused by speakers with a lot of magnetic field bleed placed near the front of the TV. If you are feeling brave try this homebrew deguasser!

Re: color gone

You must have placed speakers around your tv. your tv tube has gotten will need a degaussing coil to remove those color stains if you do not have a coil call a tech to remove it for you.good luck.

I left my tv on when I went to bed and the picture was fine. Then I woke up and turned it off. When I came home and turned it back on, the picture was blurry all around the tv except in the middle of the...

is the blurry all around the picture have different color like a smear of red, blue or yellow?
if it is i think the posistor of your tv is not working. it is the one who activate the degaussing coil around the picture tube the prevent color miss-landing upon opening your tv set.

hello.... do you have any speakers near your television? what color is the circle your talking about? Do the green, pink colors are scattered all over the screen and specially on the corners?
If you have or had speakers near your tv? then do this try to get a magnet.a magnet on a speaker would do.what you have to do is to place the magnet near the screen of the tv approx. above the green, pink color (turn it on first).you will notice the that the color will react with the magnet try to pull it on the side you will notice that the green, pink color is moving on the same direction do it until its gone.NOTE make sure youll not scratch the screen me what happened. GOODLUCK

Sounds like the deguassing cicuit has failed . This aligns the purity of your colors .Most of the time it is a simple loose connection on the themistor or the degaussing input cord to the board . Or the thermistor is bad . The tv was not dropped ? If it was this could have loosened the shadow mask in the picture , then the only way to repair is the replace the picture tube . Good luck

Panasonic Color Rings

It sounds like you have a warped shadow mask in your picture tube if your set uses a picture tube. A shadow mask is like a screen wire that lets the three color guns shoot electrons to their respective phosphor dot on the screen to produce the three primary colors which are mixed properly to produce the scene that is being shown. In other words you have a bad picture tube. Stargazer
