How to repair a vizio tv that turns off at random

1.) Unplug everything from the TV [power, hdmi, av, and more]
2.) Because the Vizio holds power while unplugged you can reset it while its unplugged.
3.) hold power button on the tv down for about 60 seconds.
4.) plug the power only back in.
5.) turn tv on
6.) if it works then plug each component in one by one
7.) enjoy your tv
8.) start saving for a non vizio tv.

Menu and captions are upside down and backwards

I have to ask--is it installed correctly? Try to power cycle the TV by unplugging any components that are connected to it, unplug the TV from the wall for a few minutes and then plug it back in & turn it on. Restore any settings back to factory defaults. If the issue still persists, then I would recommend calling to schedule repairs.

Tries tv unplug, replug it back like about an hour later for the tv to do it resetting itself back to the factory setting,tv might work again. If not still same problems. The tv 90-95% it is the board that call the tv power supply board is having a problems. That the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.U have all tools and know basic electronic and also can do basic soldering works too?Yes,take the tv aparts, check the tv power supply board carefully for dying and soon to be dead capacitors components parts. These capacitors components parts are alway bulges up or puffing up onto it tops. These dying and soon to be dead capacitors components parts are bulges or puffing ups on to it tops must have to be replaced will solved ur tv power unstable and flashing red light.Or try website like Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement.

Hi, i have a problem with my lg 32" ld350 tv..it

Hello.
This is a thermo-related issue. It happens when some parts in your TV reach certain temperature and fail creating short so TV shuts down and goes into protection mode.
In your TV the only thing that you can do is to replace Power Supply and hope it would help. Main board generally has nothing to do with temperature. Another probability - LCD panel itself (more likely back light inverter boards that are part of the panel, you can't order them separately).
There is inexpensive way to determine if it is power supply or not. You have to purchase fast-cooling spray that technicians use for diagnostic purposes (you can buy one in electronics components store).
You have remove TV rear cover so you have access to power supply board (the one where power cord goes). Turn on TV and let it run and eventually shut down. After that unplug it from wall outlet and use spray to cool down power supply board. Make sure you don't spray too much or you cooling anything else besides that board!. Let residue evaporate and plug TV back and try to turn it on. If it act OK and stays on for long time again - replace power supply and you should be OK.
Otherwise it is time for new TV. Panel is too expensive to replace.
Regards.
Russ.

We have a wall-mounted LG 32" TV, which was working fine. Yesterday we turned it on, and while the power is responsive, there is no image on the screen - no menu, no option for changing input - nothing...

The basic reset, Unplug from power for 30 sec. plug back in. If still not resolved a component board in the TV has failed and the TV will need internal parts serviced or replaced. The power boards on this model are known to have capacitors that fail, If you see no light behind the screen this is most likely the problem but there is know way to tell with out taking the tv apart and testing.
Repair cost should be under 200 My be better to buy new with warranty

Lost power completely

If you are comfortable with working in tv circuit boards then unplug tv from AC wall socket, take off back of tv and follow AC cord going inside tv that will take you to power supply board, check fuse on power supply board, replace it with same rating written on it if it found blown.
Replug tv back in wall socket and check if it turns On.
If still problem not solved then power supply board is defective and need to be replaced.
Local tv repair shop will help you if you think its not safe for you to work inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

Within an hour or so the tv blanks off, no picture only sound.

You are having a problem with overheating components that are breaking down after use. This unit should be return to dealer for servicing. The reason the television works after you turn it off the faulty component or components ( most likely a capacitors ) are some what self healing and can restore themselves for short periods of time. They will eventually fail and may take out other components with them. Hope this helps you with your problem.
