Question about Yamaha HTR-6130 Receiver
I am trying to get the best possible audio from my HD cable box to my receiver, and a rep from the store had told me to plug my cable box into the receiver using an HDMI cable. Then run another HDMI from the receiver to the TV. I followed all the directions, and have audio & video on my tv but no audio is coming through my stereo system. Makes no sense to me, and is racking my brain.
The HTR-6130 cannot decode HDMI audio. It can only act as an HDMI switch. To get the audio from the cable box to be output from the HTR-6130, you will need a separate audio connection (e.g. RCA cable).
