Question about Uniden Cordless Phone

Open Question

Uniden phone will not call out

We have cable service for phones, TV and computer through Comcast.
Today we unplugged several things in order to move the computer system. Now everything is plugged in and everything is working. The phone has digital light, but when I try to call out, the handset says it is calling, but does not ring out. Instead it goes dead. What to do? I don't think it is Comcast because everything else is working. Is there a reset or something on the base that we need to tweak?

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

SOURCE: Resetting the Handset

YOU might need to deregister the hand set first by holding down the red end (hang up key) and keep it down while holding the # key. If deregister wont work use base unavailable and yes, you are sure twice.

List the handset numbers of those working handsets
Using a WORKING handset follow these directions
Resetting Handsets
If you want to register the handset to a different base or
replace a handset with another one, you must first clear the
registration information from the base and the handset.
1. Press and hold [ ] and [#] for
at least 5 seconds, until the
SYSTEM RESET menu
appears.
2. Select the DEREGISTER HS
submenu. WHICH HANDSET?
appears in the display.
3. Move the cursor to select the handset ID to be de-registered
from the list, and then press the OK soft key. DEREGISTER HS
appears. CHOSE A NUMBER THAT IS NOT ONE OF YOUR WORKING HANDSETS
4. Move the cursor to select YES, and then press the OK soft key.
When ARE YOU SURE? appears, select YES. You will hear a
confirmation tone.
PUT THE HANDSET IN THE BASE CHARGER AND IT SHOULD REGISTER

Hope This Helps - It worked for me

SOURCE: Phone won't hang up

I solved this exactly problem by doing this:
1) unplug base station from phone line
2) unplug base station from power cube
3) open each phone and disconnect battery (do not replace phone in charger; just let it sit)
4) wait 30 minutes (per instructions from Uniden)
5) reconnect batteries in phone sets
6) reconnect power cube to base station
7) reconnect base station to phone line
8) test: make a call. Hang up. Wait one minute. Pick up line and see if you get a dial tone.
(Basically you're "rebooting" the system. You don't know where the fault lies, so you power down every component to make sure you get it. The '30 minutes' is longer than I'm used to, but after being on hold with Uniden tech support for 20 minutes and finally getting through, the instructions from them were very clear: AT LEAST 30 minutes. OK! I did it - and it worked!)

SOURCE: Register additional handsets on a Uniden phone

From: Uniden Customer Support

On most models you can find an option in the menu for De-register? In that case you would select that option and select to deregister the handset.
TRU88 models you go to the main menu and go to De-register HS select yes to deregister the Handset.

DCT5 and DCT6 models: Press menu on the handset. Go to System Reset and Press select. Go to Deregister HS and press select. Arrow up to yes and press select. Then go back into the menu. Go to system reset and press select. Arrow down to Replacing the base and press select. Arrow up to yes and press select.

DCT7 models: Press and hold "end" and "#" until the system reset menu appears on the display. Then follow the instructions from above for the DCT5 and DCT6 deregister procedures once your into the menu.

TRU4 and TRU5 models: Press and hold xfer/del and end until "de-register?" appears. Use the plus+ button to go up to yes and press select.

To register any of the following phones please see you owners manual under either:

I have received calls from CALLPRO 730-330-0318 22 times in the last 2 weeks. After checking on them online, I find they are bogus. How can I block that number?

You can do several things, the easiest is to answer the phone and tell them you're not interested and not to call you again. According to 188Notes, it's Comcast. Probably trying to sell you or upgrade your cable TV service. Here's the thread and what number you can call to stop it http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-703-330-0318/2

Using home phone causes comcast wireless internet to disconnect

Wireless internet runs at 2.4ghz. Your portable phone is probably also 2.4ghz and is knocking out your internet connection when in use. Look for an 800mhz or 5.8ghz phone as a replacement.

No dial tone on Uniden Dect 6.0 land line and portable phone

We've had the same problem with our new Uniden phone. Sounds like someone's on the other line - no dial tone and answering machine doesn't work. The telephone line works though because we plugged our old phone in and it works fine. Any solutions anyone?

First thing to try is to pick up handset or place on speaker. On the answer machine itself without trying to call your cable providers voice mail service...press the message button to ensure all messages have been heard or erased.
Second, unplug your phone power from the wall and wait two minutes before powering on the phone.
Last replace batteries in the phone if you have batteries in the phone now...may be low battery signal.
