I have transfered a LSI20160 SCSI card to my new 64-bit Windows 7 PC, but I cannot find a proper driver for the card.

I'm assuming its a driver issue.
The installation cannot proceed. Can the Vista Driver be used? Or do I need a Windows 7 specific SCSI driver?
If the Vista SCSI driver can be used how does one use the Vista driver with a "Clean" install?

My computer recently stopped recognizing my Western Digital external hard drive. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work so I figured it was the ciruit board. I removed the hard drive and opened up...

Hello,

Unplugging the CDROM didn't cause this issue but installing the western digital on that cable did cause your drive numbers to change in BIOS. You need to disconnect the external hard drive from the SATA cable but leave the power connected, then boot windows. Once booted reconnect the SATA cable. Check and see if it shows up in your disk management utility.

To do this, right click on computer, then left click manage. When the management console opens, click Disk Management on the left side and scroll down through your drives. Let me know if it shows up and what it says about the partition on the right, I'll keep my eyes open for your reply.

Can't read SM 128 card on Vista or XP

The solution was that the SmartMedia card I was using seems to have been corrupted. It works perfectly well in my device to record music, but cannot be read through either of my computers. However, another SmartMedia Card does work and I have been able to download files, so it must be the card. The manufacturer of the MRS-4 recording device, ZOOM, say that they know of no way to repair the corrupted card.
Best wishes,

Adaptec 29160n vista support issue

vista has a major issue with allowing even the admin to move and transfer files and folders.
I have run across a fix that helped me gain more control, but you probable need to get drivers for Vista from the scsi controler card manufacturer.
and for the drives.
Vista is a terribly restrictive OS.
WARNING: please do not do this if you can't reverse it on your own if needed. Editing your registry can be risky so use extreme caution.

My main drive is Nftls the external drive is configured to Fat 32, could this be the problem? Altho, I'm not so sure as it's been working ok for the past year. I managed to scandisk and fix errors and managed to defrag, everything was working pukka after that, but then today.. well that red light is annoying, especially when you dont know what it means! Think I need to go to packard bell and see if they have a solution. Anyone found one yet?
