Question about Dryers

Hello I have a whirlpool dryer model #LER7648KQ2 It is only 5 years old and it never went off last night I think the timer is broken and now it is not heating so is that a fuse or the heating element

Mine had the same problem. A repair guy (overcharge me) replaced a thermal fuse by opening up the back of the dryer, took 10 minutes. I can do it next time and save $125. Well lesson learned.

if the noise is a rumbling sound tha that would be your roller's.the other problem sounds like a bad timer.time to think,do i put that kind of money in a 12 year old dryer or get a new one.

I pushed the start button on my dryer.


i think it is your thermal fuse went out. one more thing check you circuit breakers it 30 amp duel breaker. some time one side trip and other side still on. i hope it help you.

I would be suspect of the timer. Same thing happened to mine.

Rotate the timer manually a few degrees and see if the dryer operates properly. If so, replace the timer, a simple thing to do. Cost is about $75.00 and available from SearsPartsDirect.
