We had this recurrng problem on our Whirpool Gold series dishwasher
model 2500, after 12 visits by a service tech under a maintenence contract
success...........here is the solution in a nutshell......there are two microswitches in the control panel, next to the circuit board(brain) The microswitches control the door latch.. Remove the switch to the etreme left, there are two, the one on the left side, we first tried taping the microswitch contact closed, ran the dishwasher 5 times...........worked every time, we then removed switch, bypassed switch, dishwasher is working perfect, In the last nine months all electrical parts were changed on our dishwasher.................Stuart

My quiet partner 111 whirlpool dishwasher is flashing clean

Hello.
Manufactured by Whirlpool, Kenmore dishwashers have an electronic control panel that must be unlocked in order to set or make changes to your dishwashing cycle. If an error light is blinking on your dishwasher's control panel, the panel must be reset before you can gain access. Blinking lights on your dishwasher control panel may signal a mechanical problem that needs to be repaired. If the lights continue to blink after you've reset the control panel, contact Sears to service your Kenmore dishwasher or consider troubleshooting the appliance yourself.
1Press and hold the "Heated Dry" button on your Kenmore dishwasher for four seconds to unlock the dishwasher control panel.
2 Press the "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" buttons one after the other, in fairly quick succession.
3 Wait for the dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.
4 Press the "Cancel/Drain" button at the end of the diagnostic test cycle. This should reset the control panel on your Kenmore dishwasher.

Thanks.

Clean light "green" flashes 7

Hi

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry or high temp wash-heated dry-high temp wash-heated dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Hi

Press and hold the HEATED DRY/NO HEAT DRY/AIR DRY button for 15 seconds to unlock the control lock in your dishwasher. Also make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly. If the issue returns after its cleaned then it means that the control board has gone bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Clean button is flashing

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Seems like you have a keyboard error as well.

:)

The same is true for your diswasher - the main controller has failed, and requires replacement.

Try the following resets first...

If the light is constantly blinking vs blinking a set number of time and then starting over again it can indicate that one of the buttons are stuck. Which can cause the light to constantly flash. You may have to change out the control button.
If it's blinking a set number of times, try doing this keystroke sequence.
  • Crack the door open.
  • Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub - Air Dry - Hi Temp Scrub - Air Dry
  • Close and latch the door
  • Press the cancel button

  • One other sequence you can try would be
    sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry

Otherwise, with the constant blinking of the light then you may have to change out the control panel.

HOWEVER - before replacing the board - keep in mind there is a design flaw with this dishawasher - the vent is directly below the control panel, and you are likely to experience this again in the near future.

it may be worth the investment of the repair cost toward a new washer - as the board is at LEAST $145 plus labor if you do not want to do yourself.

If you are inclined to replace it yourself - please reply with the exact model #, and I can refer you to a parts source.

    Thanks for using FixYa!!
