You could have a built-in wireless card or it may be a module that can be removed (it could be under a panel on the bottom of the laptop. If not you should be able to disable the onboard wireless from your BIOS.

Try installing the correct lan and wifi drivers from the computer manufacturer. If there are none available, win10 is not compatible.

Cannot install WiFi drivers on laptop

Sounds like the drivers are not compatible. Get new drivers or get a new LAN card or USB LAN dongle

Were is the wireless turn on switch?

It appears that there isn't an external switch to turn the WLAN off on the Everex NC1500 laptop (click here for the full manual). Here is a link showing you how to disable and enable WLAN card in WinXP (click here) if this is what you are trying to accomplish.
According to the manual (if your wireless isn't working) you must first install the WLAN driver before using the wireless connection. Info: "Wireless LAN module is similar to LAN module. You need to install software driver before using it. Please refer to Appendix B on how to install the driver." Appendix B INSTALLING THE WIRELESS LANDEVICE DRIVER Please follow the procedures below for installing the Mini PCI Adapter driver: Installing Wireless LAN driver for Windows XP 1. Click the Start button and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears. 2. Click Browse button and specify the directory as "E:\Drivers\Winxp\Wireless LAN\setup.exe" 3. Click "OK" to implement the setup program to install this driver. 4. Click "Next" twice to continue the installation.
Hope this was helpful.

If you upgrade your operating system like from windows xp to windows vista, you need to install new hardware driver for your computer like for LAN, webcam, WAN and others because the old driver is only compatible with the old operating system and not with VISTA operating system. Solution would are, download webcam and WAN driver for Windows Vista and install it into your computer. Don't just upgrade your computer because the configuration is not the same with the old operating system. If problem still exist, just upgrade the service pack from 2 to 3. There is available install for upgrading the service pack of each operating system. and surely all your hardwares will function.

Instead of trying to replace the wireless card which may be awkward to find an exact match, I would recommend finding an inexpensive Type 1 or 2 PC-CARD / PCMCIA Card (Not express card). You can pickup an inexpensive WiFi B/G Card which will work fine.

Good Luck

Basic computer settings dissapeared.

This is a very common issue with people installing a new Operating System instead of 'upgrading' it: all you Laptop specific drivers have been wiped and need to be re-installed! All modern Laptops and Desktops come with a set of drivers on CD (or on a protected disk partition) specific to their machine AND specific operating systems and should include Chipset Driver, Video Card Driver, Audio Driver, Lan driver, Wireless Lan driver if applicable, Soft Keys/SCM driver. If you don't have them, you could download them from Toshiba.
Hope it helps: let me know how you go!

Not getting connected to the Broadband internet

Right click on the wireless LAN and then click Repair. Do this in the Control Panel - Network Connections. This will force the wireless LAN card to get a new TCP/IP address from your wireless router.
When you get this Limited connectivity message do a repair - this is a common problem - the wireless connection icon is also on your Task Bar, you can right click in it to do a repair.
