Question about Kenmore Elite 22.4 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator with Adjusta Cube Ice Maker
I have a Daewoo FR 430 Fridge. It works OK for a while and then after a few days before it would run for a few weeks and then it would trip the electricity earth leakage. I check the electricity in the house and it is OK. If I leave the fridge off for a day and switch it on again it would run for about three days. when this problem started it would run for a two to three weeks but now it seems to be more frequent. The compressor does feel hot at the time it tripped. I cannot see any water or anything strange. I had the the fridge checked out a few days ago. At that time it was running and the home appliance person could not find any fault. Now today 3 days later it tripped again. I did adjust the setting from normal to cold in the fridge compartment as it felt as if the fridge was not cold enough. The freezer compartment seemed OK. I note that by removing the earth cable from the fridge it does not trip. (I did however put the earth cable back for safety purposes).
Can you please assit with the problem as it has been like this for some time and I am not full time at home I would like to get an understanding of the possible cause.
I assume by "earth leakage" you mean it is on a GFI circuit? Some older GFI outlets are sensitive to and do not work well with motors or other inductive loads like your refridgerator compressor. As for the compressor feeling hot, this is usually normal.
If this is a GFI outlet, try replacing it with new unit. If it is a GFI breaker, try replacing that.
