Can't turn off beeping noise for various functions -
Dell laptop D630 - a loud beep for various things - e.g, finding wireless networks, and others I can't figure out (hitting some wrong key??) I can turn off the wireless network altert function, but otherwise can't figure out what's making it beep. I've tried changing settings but still get this.
Re: can't turn off beeping noise for various functions -
Disable system "beep" on Windows XP:
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Device Manager -> Show Hidden Devices -> Non Plug-and-Play Drivers -> Beep (Stop and Disable) -> restart

Tom - I thought the video adapter was part of the motherboard on a D630. How are you fixing a bad video adapter and 'often without parts'? I only asking because I have a D630 that I believe has a bad video adapter and would like to resurrect this PC. It is in otherwise great shape.
It depends on the beeping noise you hear. If it beeps short but continuouse then it is probably power problem possibly the battery. You can use a guide to the beeps to determine what exaclty is causing the probpem it might well be the hard drive is gone.
-to configure the router after the reinstall, you have to manually create a wireless network again.
-you need the security key of the router (like WEP, WPA2, etc)
-ensure that the wireless is found in the device manager as well, right click computer, click manage then click device manager and check on the network adapter if wireless is detected without any symbol
This Should Be Taken To A Specialist. The Screen Goes Upside Down Because There Is A Malfunction In The Magnetic Sensors So It Believes Its Closed. The Other Problems Just Sound Hay Wire. Hope You Get It Fixed
