The FL error code means:
Flood Condition:
FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

This problem I see on these are the water pumps getting clogged with lint or other things, causing the pump not to pump all of the water out at times.

There is a check "valve" in the drain assembly that seems to sometimes cause problems with the FL error code. You can remove this piece, and might avoid changing the pump.

My washer stopped in midcycle and posted the F2 error message. What does that mean? Thanks

You have something in the drain lines. Possibly a coin or other objects.

Here is what you need to do:
- Clean out the drain pump catch.

- Pull the suction boot off the drain pump, clean out any gook.

- Blow through the drain hose starting from the connection at the pump.

- Verify operation or replace the drain pump

I need to clean the lint filter on my whirlpool duet front loading washing mashine. where is it located and how can I get to it?

Its not really a lint filter ,it catches everything that gets down to the drain pump. You need to remove the lower panel on the front of the unit(three small screws one on each side and one in the center down at the floor) pull out bottom of panel to axcess the drain pump. MAKE sure to unplug before working inside.drain pump will have two hoses running to it ,to clean out the filter (trap) turn the cap facing you to the left to remove some water will drain out have a towel to catch reinstall everying in reverse order .sounds like a lot but is actually very easy after the first time

I cleaned the lint tray or catcher from the the front loader washing machine and the water still won't drain could the pump be out?

If there was a lot of junk in the catcher some of it may have moved to the drain hose.

Other than that, the drain pump is the most likely suspect here.

Barrel is half full of water and machine just makes a buzzing noise when powered up.

The washer sees the water in the tub and is trying to drain. The drain pump is either bad or there is something stuck in the pump. The pump is located on the back right side looking at the washer from the front. Unplug washer and empty water from tub. Take the back panel off, remove drain pump which more water will come out so have a wet vac ready. Check inside the pump for coins, lint, etc..., If you find something stopping the pump clean and reassemble and run the washer. The pump will have to be replaced if it does not now work. If there is nothing in the pump, replace the pump. Part number w10217134 retails for $95.20.

A lot of lint in my clothes when I wash them in my kenmore washer

If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here's the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
5. Here's a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don't own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there's nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT - DO NOT FORGET!).
9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console - DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). "C00" will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

GE Adora Front Load Washing Machine Problem

I had a similar problem...with the added issue of the door not locking at all. I cleaned the filter and all is well. However, it took me hours to find the 3 screws everyone was talking about The screws are at the very bottom of the washer, under the lip, facing front. If your machine sits on a pedestal drawer like mine, they are located between the machine and the pedestal. I hope these pics save someone a little time...
