Question about Virgin Electronics VM-500 MP3 Player

No Software Support - Need Virgin Music Management Software

The website no longer exists. In the past I had to reformat my VM-500 and reinstalled the virgin software (from their site) and reloaded all my music etc. This MP3 player only works with media player 10 and requires the music management software to be installed. The music management software never came on a disk but was on the hardrive of the MP3 player and of course I lost this when I formatted. Their website is no longer around, so where in the world can I find the Virgin VM-500 music management software ?? I have trying searching for it all over the web with no success. Can anyone out there help me ? regards Peter

H.E.L.P!!!!!!!!!!!! PUHLEZE!!!!!

I had the same problem with mine. All you have to do is search these keywords: Virgin, MPF-1000, Driver, Download

When you search those keywords you should have quite a few options to download the drivers needed. Anyway, here are a few links to the software and/or drivers needed for you to be able to get your Virgin Pulse MPF-1000 working. (This download website is in Spanish for those of you that can only read/speak in Spanish)

That will be all you need to do. Once you have installed the driver, plug the MP3 into the USB. Once you plug it in the autoplay should come up and just go from there. Please let me know if this solves your problem.

Thank You & God Bless,

setup your player in MSC mode

go to my computer and right click on the mp3 icon (common: removable disk) click on format and change the file system to FAT. this will take time.

try your player, if it still doesnt work you can download the firmware of your device from your products website if im not mistaken, or try to google your product for its software.

you can format it using the software provided by manufacturer.

Message: Oh dear, this hard disk isn't working properly.

I have fixed this, and I hate this player, however this is the solution

I've uploaded ALL YOU'LL EVER NEED on this rapidshare link, I format my player and bringit back to life with only this...

1.- unrar to the player
2.- try if it works, if not go to 2.1
2.1.- install the software, included in the rar file, then try if it works it should

IMPORTANT: when you have manage to make it work do this, it will save you a lot of time

1.- browse your player to the system/data folder and backup those files, if you get any future troubles (like no music found, strange characters instead of artist's list) replace those files with your backup, backup those files always after adding new music!!!

2.- save the rar file I've uploaded, if you have the wmp plugin already installed and you get the "Oh dear this hard disk doesn't work" message again, just format the player, and put every single file from the rar to the player

3.- excuse my english...
any further problems --> msn:

4.- help other virgin 5gb users
