Question about Coleman Propane Forced Air Heater w/Electronic Ignition (50,000-80,000 BTU)

1 Answer

Central locking on el ford falcon wagon keeps going up and down.

When locking the car with a key as I don't have the remote any more (problem still existed when had remote as well), the lock will continue up and down for sometimes up to 30 secs before stopping at either locked or unlocked. You can't walk away from the car because you don't know if it will stop at locked or unlocked. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be appreciated. thank you

Same problem here, just bought the car a couple of months ago, had the car serviced, but the mechanics didn't know how to fix it. Sometimes it's more than 30 seconds, I've been waiting for almost 5 minutes in some cases. I think when holding the key in the close positition, you can actually force the lock to stop at the lock position. But it's a workaround, not a solution. Any help appreciated.

hi i have been over this problem in my au wagon. the problem was the rear door was not closed properly. if any door is not closed properly. the computer will not allow you to lock the car if any door is open or thinks it is open. if a door lock is unpluged it will do the same thing because it doesnot know that it is closed

Not for free:
- ford-falcon-1996-1998-workshop-manual
- austech.info/26116-ford-ef-el-service-manual (its page 2 post 39, is still active; I might add, i think you need to be a registered Austech member to view the link for those looking for it).

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

My remote key will not open the doors to my Ford Falcon el 1998 sedan. It will now and then but have a hard time trying to locate the sensor. I have a brand new battery in it. Do I need a new one?

is the light flashing hard on the remote when you push it? the sensor should be located in the drivers door where the actual actuator that opens the lock is. most of the time its the contacts in the remote, may need to bend the prongs in and file them a little to help the contact from the battery

Ford falcon locks

Dude, the same thing happened with my EL falcon. It turned out to be the key fob! The buttons were sometimes sticking and all of a sudden it would re-lock. Ususally it would unlock then immediately relock. Leaving no time to get into the the car. Sometimes we would be driving and the Alarm would go off without touching a thing. I ditched the Key Fob and all was well again.
I hope this helps
