Question about Samsung 32 in. LCD Monitor TV
Yesterday I purchased a Samsung 32"series 6 4HDTV. Every time I switch a fluoresent light eg kitchen 20 W fluoro, the TV loses sound for about 1 second. Sometimes the image momentalrily showls blocks of colours about 1 cm square randomly dispayed on the screen but in a string or bunched together. This happens even if I connect the TV by a long extension to to the most distant socket in the house. I have checked voltage and power factor of the supply and both seem norma. l I presume switching the light off casues a voltage spike on the mains but this is an irritating problem and I worry it will damage the computer. Does anyone know anything about this problem and a fix for it?

Most likely the set has lost vertical sweep or the feedback from that circuit. This will shut the set down to prevent a horizontal line from burning the face of the CRT. This will have to be looked at by a technician.
