Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

Can't transfer Audible files to my Sansa Clip

I received a Sansa Clip as a Christmas gift. I would like to use it to listen to my existing Audible book recordings. I have been utilizing my Garmin GPS to listen the books while traveling but I wanted the Clip so that I could listen while mowing the lawn or doing other chores around the house. I downloaded the software from the Audible site and it shows up on my computer when I open the Audible manager program but I am unable to transfer the recordings from my Audible library to the Sansa Clip device. I keep getting an error message stating that it was it was "unable to transfer audio to your Sandisc Sansa Clip 2G device."

"Device specific error"

"Unable to update your device. Please press abort transfer and try again later." Can you suggest a solution? Also, I wonder if there is somewhere I could find an operating manual for my device?

I appreciate the link for the manual.

I tried your suggestion and while the Clip indicated that it was writing and the files showed up on the computer's "my computer" screen they did not show up nor was I able to access them once the unit was removed from the computer.

What I did, finally, was download Audible Manager from the Audible site a second time. When the installation program indicated that there was already a program on my computer and asked if I wanted to overwrite it I said yes.

After that I was able to use the newly installed version and it worked as it was suppose to. Apparently the program I had on my computer originally had been corrupted somehow.

I appreciate your suggestion and I was able to download a copy of the manual which has been helpful.

The link to the operating manual (which includes the Audiobook instructions) is here:

What I would do is drag and drop the Audible files from the folder that Audible creates to store your audiobooks to the Audible folder of the Sansa Clip, instead of using the Audible Manager.

I cannot listen to an "audible" book on my sansa player. I get the error message "please activate device with audible manager to play this title". I don't know what audible manager...

"Audible" books are copy protected to prevent unauthorized copying or sharing.
Download the Audible Manager software from http://www.audible.com/sw
When you load that software and sign on to your Audible.com account, you will be able to sync the information into the Sansa player that will authorize the audiobook to play on the Sansa.

I have a sansa clip; could not find Rhapsody cards; got an iTunes card for my Mac; apparently transferred tunes from Mac to clip, see them on the clip directory from my Mac but can't see them or play them...

Your Sansa will not be compatible with the DRM used in iTunes. You can download iTunes+ tracks, which are DRM free (there are a lot of them now) or you can 'burn' the m4a files to mp3 files with a program like NoteBurner (www.noteburner.com) :: Disclaimer :: This method is technically illegal, except in jurisdictions that allow backup copies.

I have a message on my sansa clip that I want to get rid of so that I can continue to listen to my book. I can't listen till this is straightened out. It says synchronize to continue your music...

Audible books are protected, you can copy them into device, but you can't play them (...subscription...appearing ). You must use audible manager to sync audible books.
You should delete audible books that make pop up a message " synchronize to....", otherwise, your device always pops up the message when it meet the audible books.

My Sansa Clip suddenly will not download from Audible.com, and sometimes freezes up when I turn it on. I just got it for Xmas...What's wrong?

You should update to new firmware; go to the following website and file version for your device, http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/

If It still does not work, you should format device, and then resync audible book

Mp3 files dont show up in sansa fuze music folder, but exist.on the player. when i run the player, it works fine all the music is there and no problems when i connect it to my computer to add/remove files...

With my Sansa Clip I just have to make sure it is set to MSC, then I can always see the files in the Clip from my computer. I transfer a lot of mp3 files to the Sansa Clip from a SmartCard with a Memorex TravelSync connected to both the Clip and a SmartCard reader. Initially, I couldn't figure out how I could play them on the Clip but not see them when connected to a computer. But when I set the USB Mode to MSC, I could see all the files.

Cannot tell when sansa mp3 player is fully charged.

Make sure the hold switch is not engaged - it will interfere with the charging process. Here is a link to the full user's manual:
