The only reason the DVD will not function with the RB4 is if the DVD unit is not talking on the BUS. The RB4 will work with the factory DVD single disc/or DVD changer.Make sure that the BUS is connected to the DVD unit and the Van thru the 22 pin and 10 pin connectors on the back of the radio.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My navagation system keeps saying that it "cannot read disk" please check disk. Do i need a new disk or is something wrong with my system? 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Hi,

the the problem is from the laser (lens) of your navigation system. It cannot read disk because the laser (lens) is weak or dirty.

Its might also be that the disk you inserted into the system has some scratches or the disc is bad. Try several discs on the system.

If problem still persists after trying several discs, get the laser replaced and it should read disk again.

Good luck.

I have 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and have SAME problems - Nav error reading disc. I tried another disc but did not work. No one seems to have an ANSWER on our posts in this forum - I know to clean the disc...

i think the issue with all these problems is that the fan in the back of the navigation system fails and then the disc overheats tremendously (mine overheated to the point that I could not touch it) and then it can not be read.

I dont have the cd for navigaton for my s320,2000

Hello
To add navigation option you have to have the original screen in the car , and then you have to install the full navigation parts .
You can change the language from the menu itself
Hope that helps

Sounds like your describing the overhead console display?
If totally blank, check the 20 amp yellow fuse #14 as a 1st step.

DO NOT HAVE NAVIGATION CD FOR MY 2004 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED

got mine off ebay for a decent price.  you can also order through the dealership.  if you order a newer one (make sure it is for the jeep) it will make some minor changes (upgrades) to your radio.

RB4 Calibration / Sensors Menu Question

Hi Chris
I have run across the problem with the display showing that you are going backwards on units I work on my bench. As long as you are getting the distance pulses and the nav functions are operating properly the should be no problems. You reinstall the 2060 ver and see if it reverts back to the way it was. Then reinstall the 2070 ver again. The main changes that were madewere to the update speed for the GPS functions.I do have a service manual, but cannot release it to anyone. From what i understand I am the only one that is Factory authorized to repair the RB4 units in the USA.
Feel free to msg me about any other questions you have about the unit
Yes theCAN BUS could cause a problem.
The 07 chrysler's use the highspeed CAN C in some of the app's in the vehicle. But from what I understand they are only using 125hz can BUS speed(which some consider low speed CAN) But as you mentioned the radio is talking on the BUS so it must also have J1850 communication. The RB4 does not have CAN built into the unit.

How do you remove DVD stuck in navigation system

If you remove the unit from the dash the top, take off the top cover, no screws you can acess the CD slot. Remove the 4 screws holding the CD player in place and the ribbon cable and you should be able to remove the CD from the slot.
