When i connect the monitor to my computer there is nothing displayed, when i take out the cable, there is a floating "Check cable" box. But as soon as I connect the cable to the computer the check cable box goes away. The green pilot light at lower right goes off and on periodically. If I press the menu button on the monitor, I get a graphic box in the upper left corner saying Test Good with a graphic of five small circles with dots in the center, arranged as a row of 3 and a row of 2. None of the other buttons does anything except the power button seems to turn the green pilot light off and on. I am running windows vista ultimate and have a GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card. Which my Compaq FP5315 Monitor that works fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

-   I have the same problem with one of my monitors. shurly some one else has experienced this also or some one has a fix for it other than buying a new monitor. I know dell had a problem and it was a soder problem and a simple 1.00 part also that was causing the problem. any one ????

the resolution setting may have been in inadvertently change to one that your monitor does not support you mentioned that you have another monitor that does work with your computer what i would do is to set the video resolution to the lowest possible setting and the turn off the computer and connect the questionable monitor to your computer and reboot if it does come up then you will be able to make changes and find an appropriate resolution for your monitor
