TV says Main no signal. Trying to hook up our Akai tv to the DISH network. Need help

Good afternoon! My name is Becki, with DISH. I hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, here are some steps to do so!

If you are at TV1, where the receiver box is located, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4. (The correct location for these on the back of the recever will have a TV 3/4 above it.)
If you are using an HDMI cable, then the TV will need to be on an HDMI input
If you are using Component cables, your TV will need to be on a component input. (Usually Comp 1 or 2)
If you are using RCA cables, then the TV will need to be on a VIDEO input (Usually Video 1 or 2) (The correct location for these on the back of the receiver will have a green TV symbol with a 1 in it.)
Please let me know if you need any further assistance!!

you need to inspect the board, most of the time you can trace the problem according to a deformed component.... bulged capacitor, burnt component (black dust on component and board) or if it's an IC crack or chipped ...

I need help tv lcd akai model lct2785ta

You do know that this model TV takes about 5-10 seconds to come on after you press the on button, right?

Press it once to get the green LED, then wait. If it doesn't display the blue AKAI splash screen within 15 seconds, the TV is not working as it should.

Also remember that this model has two RF input jacks. As seen from the back of the TV, the jack on the far right is the one to use for analog TV, analog cable, coax out to TV from a cable box, or rf out from a vcr.

Don't use the one on the far left. It is for input to the ATSC OTA DTV tuner only.

Most likely there is a real problem with your TV, but in the video, you are pressing the on/off button in rapid succession. That will never work with this model.

Akai LCT2701AD - 27' LCD TV/DVD Player Combo

I don't know if I solved the problem. I find though if I turn the TV off and unplug it and then plug back in when I want to watch it - it works. I don't know why but it does. My remote still does not connect to the LCD but I have cable HDTV so chanel changes work from that control.

I am pretty ********** that it is only a year old and this has happened but what can you do? We live in a disposable world.

I was trying to get to your Premium assistance Plan from where I wrote my issue but I don't know where to pay or what to do on your site it keeps taking me all over.

Hdmi receiver to hd plasma tv

1. You cannot get and HDMI and component on one cable. One is anaglod, and HDMI is digital. Use the component, the difference isnt. They are both HDTV compatible signals. S-Video is terrible, its really no better than the old-fashioned coaxial cable. After you connect the two, be sure you go into the settings on your home theater and set the output to component, progressive scan, and the the resolution your TV supports. The resolution is clearly stated in the user manual and on the box. It is probably 720p or 1080i. (Dont worry, most HD devices will revert back to the settings if they dont work. So if it goes blank or you see undesired picture, just wait up to 15 seconds and it will revert your settings. Once you are successful, the menu will ask you if you can see the picture, use the remote to select yes.)

2. The remote came possibly with an auto scanning feature, but at least has a code entry mode to program
your brand of tv to work with your remote. Look at the list of codes based on category and brand in the documentation for the home theater system. Use all the codes available for your brand unil the tv responds to the code you entered. This is very brief but the manual has very specific instructions on what to press, step by step.

And the last question is absolutely yes, the picture is about 6x better than the regular tv standard which is 480i

480i is an interlaced picture, and its 320x480 dots of color to display your picture, interlacing is basically using one horizontal line to act as 2 by quicly alternating what it draws twice per frame. Thats why standard tv seems to "jiggle" in place
Progressive Scan has a solid image, every time, that automatically doubles your quality. Definitely, you want your resolution to be as high as the tv supports and you will be satisfied.

This is an indication that one of the components in the screen control sections has a thermal instability problem. This canusually be found using a product called cool mist which is a component cooling spray. This lowers the compenent temperature and allows you to see which component has the problem. Also you may want to if you are able try to use a voltmenter and a schematic to trace the problem down once you know which component is giving you the problem.
