Weber Q300 - Gas bottle runs out very quickly

Bought Weber recently and only used 6 times over 2 month period (30 minutes each time) and gas bottle is now almost empty. Am I supposed to turn bottle off and disconnect gas lead when not in use ?? I have not done this so presume gas is still coming out very slowly and thus emptying.
Have 7.8 kilo or 17 lb gas bottle.Everyone says Weber is supposed to be very gas efficient.

Regards Jim.

Yes turn the valve off at the tank so you do not loose gas. You do not have to disconnect the tank from the BBQ though.

Need to convert our Q300 propane grill to natural gas. Do you sell conversion kits?

Unfortunately, Weber grills are not convertible from one gas type to another. There are no conversion kits available for your model or any Weber model gas grill.

To confirm this, go to the following link and on page 2 under Warnings, last paragraph, left hand column, you can confirm this, if you like.

http://help.weber.com/manuals/pdf_files_2011/Gas/Weber%20Q/Q300320_OwnersGuide_41060_021011.pdf

The only advantage to converting it to Natural Gas is not having to refill the grill tank. The downside, is that you will loose the heating capability that Propane has. It burns cleaner and hotter than Natural gas, in an outdoor environment.

Hope this helped you. Happy Grilling!!

Hi there, I have a Weber Q 300 Natural Gas. I have an outdoor gas outlet which have been capped at the end. I don't know how to connect it to my Weber. Do I need a gas fitter to come out? Please help.

Yes, you will need a gas fitter or gas technician to complete the hookup, because the gas line has been capped and you can be sure whether or not it's still an active line. In addition, you will also need (if you don't have it already) a 12' long, rubber, quick disconnect hose the runs from the pipe to the grill (this is a Code Requirement), as well as a gas line line shutoff valve on the end of that exposed pipe, as well as all the necessary pipe fittings.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

Hi, I have just bought a Weber 100 BBQ. I have a

You have a couple of questions. In order: 1. Flame may not be visible because it burns very clean. 2. When they say 'turn gas off', they actually mean 'turn gas tank off'. 3. It's not necessary to remove the tank after every use. Just make sure the gas valve is off and the entire grill and tank are covered. I do remove the tank, and store it in an outdoor shed during the winter.

Very little gas getting to burners Full bottle of propane Acts the same way as when the propane bottle is getting empty This grill is only about 6 months old

You either have clogged burners and they need to be cleaned. Clogged inlet line to the burners. (This can come from trash, spiderwebs etc in the connection, kinked line etc.) or the regulator is malfunctioning.

Weber grill will not heat up, reaches 200F and no higher

Also, it has to shut down the same way every time you use your grill.

Here is a Tip to fix a grill that not getting hot:
1. Turn the gas valve knob off. then close LP tank valve knob.
2. Unscrew the plastic hose coupling knob from the LP tank. You may hear a slight "hissing" sound as pressure is released this is normal.
3.Wait a minute then screw the coupling knob back on to LP Tank.
4.With lid open.slowly open LP tank valve.
5.Relight the grill the proper way by turning gas valve knob to ON position while turning the igniter knob at the same time.
6.After you are sure the grill is lit preheat the grill for 30 minutes.

This was called purging the line or releasing the air out of the line.

Another thing your orifice could be clogged with spiders or dirt. If it is LP gas check to make sure your hose is not kinked.
