Try taking out your rca leads and turning the amp on. if it stil makes the noise try using a diffrent sub 2 see if the sub is gone. mite be broken leads.

I have a Rockford PL2-110 and intermittently I get a loud popping noise out of nowhere. the sub sounds good the majority of the time but occasionally it will make the noise more and more often. any ideas?

Have you double checked the wiring ( + to + and - to -)? When hooked up correctly, a sub should push outward when bass hits. If your wiring is correct and your amp isnt too big for the speaker then its about to go out.

Rockford sub squeaks

Hello markwasicki,

You did not specify what type of enclosure the subs are in or if they share the same airspace. But the sound you describe sounds suspiciously like the enclosure is at fault and not the sub itself.

Remove and reverse the subs in the box and test for the noise again. If the noise is still produced on the same side of the box, it's the enclosure. If the noise follows the sub, then you have a problem with that sub.

If the box is making the noise, and it's a ported box, you probably have "port noise". If it's a sealed enclosure, you could have either an air leak or flexing noise. In either case, repair the enclosure or put the subs in a new one. If the sub itself is making the noise, there probably isn't much you can do. Most likely some part of the voice coil assembly is touching where it should not.

Hope this helps.

Kicker sub wont work

Im guessing that it is possibly blown... either you ran too much power to it, or it was hooked up wrong... you should unscrew the sub from the box and look inside to make sure that it is connected correctly.... positive to positive, negative to negative,,, if they so much as touched then the L7 could very well be blown.... smell the magnet and if you smell a burnt smell... it is blown... maybe turn your amp down a little... its possible that it is also in protect mode because you are running too many watts to the amp. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.... Please rate! :D And good luck... i really hope its not burnt out. that stuff is not cheap.

Sub making noise without input

Hi there guys, i dont have this problem ,but i do have the EN-AT1100 encounter 10" and cant get the thing to work at all. The six pin plug for the power (12V+), earth (GND) and accesories (REM) are all muddled up as i never bough it with the original leads. Can any of you help me out with the wiring on how to connect it? is there two wires for (12V+), two wires for earth (GND) and just one wire for accessories (REM)?

Hope you can help thanks.

Woofer making horrible noise! HELP!

Think as an expert... Probably from my experience repairing woofers etc... the cone (1) or the spider (2) isn't well glued onto the woofer skeleton(or both???) The woofer cone must be absolutely centered or else you will get those clicks in low frequencies(you also get them in higher frequencies but you can't hear them!) I must say that it is very difficult to repair a woofer by your own. I suggest to return it back where you bought it and take another one (i suppose that you have a guarantee ha?).

From your alternator, Make sure none of your RCA's are near a power wire, check your grounds as well.
