The only suggestion of help i can off would be if you're using the RCA cables that came with your your console, the standard component red, white, yellow, or the better quality YpBpR, red, blue, green, red and white, make sure that the switch on the side of the connector that gets plugged into the console, is on the correct setting. If you are using the standard component, the switch is in the right position. If you are using the YpBpR, that the switch is in the HDTV position. Hope this helps in anyway!

Turn tv on now, have a picture flicker few sec.than died.Have sound left only?Yes,than the 2 long LCD inverter boards are dead. These 2 long LCD inverter boards help the LCD screen to have a backlight to produced a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those 2 refurbishes long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.
No, that will not damage the input. But if you are using component input and the green wire is off or not connected correctly it will prevent a picture from coming on. The green is the luminance and carries the main picture signal.
There may be a weak signal coming through your connections. If you connect your unit with Ypbpr cables that should improve the reception for your unit.
YPbPr refers to the 3 wire component cables designed for HD presentation. These would be RCA type (red, green and blue coponents). 'One" can assume that your DVD is currently set up for HD but you do not have the proper cables attached.
Tacz,
What video input# on the back of the TV is your component video?? Are you sure the TV is set to look at that video input#??? You may be looking at one of the composite video inputs as far as the TV is concerned and with nothing plugged in to that input the TV would naturally give the error message you indicated.
Let me know..
