The freezer panel has 2 fan motors, one for the i/m area and the other for cooling. there is 1 screw in the center of the panel, remove it and then the panel will have to be wedged out. it may seem like it is tight but go ahead and pull on the panel and it will come out.
before you can do this, you will need to remove the drawer and rails so you can get into the panel easily.
p.s. you didnt say why you want to remove this panel???
by the way, these units have problems with the fan motors causing poor cooling in the refr section.
if it has been ok for several weeks, then you may have an air leak somewhere or the door is not getting fully closed. make sure the freezer drawer is sealing properly. this would cause moisture to enter the unit and freeze around the air vent by the fan motor. it is common to see but hard to find out where the air is getting in. what i have seen is the closer on the tracks may not be working right and that could cause the drawer to not close tight.you have to remove the drawer and check each track seperatley to find out if the closer portion is working. i would guess thats what is happening.
to check the seal, take a dollar bill and put it between the gasket and frame. you should have to slightly pull on it to remove the bill or it is not closing tight.
also, the track when closed to about 1 inch of all the way in should pull the track in by itself, that is its self closing feature.
sorry dennis not likely any other places for air to get in. it just may be that the drawer or the upper doors are not getting closed all the time. just be careful and be sure to watch and make sure all the doors are closed every time and hopefully the frost wont come back.
go ahead and defrost it once again and see how it goes over the next few weeks.
as far as i know there hasnt been a real problem with this happening to others, but thats what my job is like everyday. i run into something new all the time.
good luck and let me know if i can help.

Thanks for the reply.
The reason I want to remove the panel I have ice build up around the vent in the back.It had got so bad that it had buildup behind the panel & the fan was hitting it. I unplugged the unit for several hours for it to defrost & it was fine. That was about six weeks ago now I can see the ice building back up, at this time the fan is not hitting anything. I feel I need to take a look behind the panel to look for a problem. If you can tell me what to look for I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Dennis
I used the dollar bill in three places on the top both sides & bottom it felt like a good fit in all twelve places. The draw does pull it self in for about the last three inches. I assume it's working ok. Is there any place else I could have air getting in.
Thanks for the help.

I had the same problem. Got it fixed under warranty. There is a problem from the factory. The technician removed the sensor cover on the ceiling of the freezer and fixed either a clip or a screw or both, I can't be sure since it was over a year ago. No problems freezing up since. Maybe this will jog someone's memory to give you a better explanation. Good luck.
