My battrey is not charging

1) is the power source active (some wall sockets have a switch to render power there inactive -Australia)
2) is the charger plugged into an active power strip or an active wall socket?
3) is the charger damaged?
4) how long has the cell phone been charging? If the battery was completely discharged, it may take a bit for it to show a screen of it charging.
5) if the battery will not accept a charge, it will have to be replaced. Lithium batteries retain longer life spans if you charge them when power level is down to about 20 percent, NOT when they are completely discharged.
6) Better write down the battery number and amps when you pull the battery and keep it with phone documentation.

Emachines charging

I've gone through exactly what your're going through right now.
I'm sorry to say but your battery is dead, you need to get it replaced. It can be replaced under warranty, if you have it.

To avoid this kind of a problem in future take care that you:
1. Don't let the battery drain out after your PC warns about low battery.
2. Try to maintain it's charge when you are not using it for days. The self discharge of the battery may take it below the critical level even when you're not using it. So keep charging it even when you're not using it.
3. Preferably use your laptop on external power supply (keep it on charging while using it whenever possible), charging it even when the battery is full doesn't hurt.
4. Let it have a charging and discharging cycle at least once in two weeks.

The above steps will help you maintain a good health of your battery and avoid the problem you're in currently.

My laptop is not charging. it says 0% available (plugged in, not charging) plz help i have a stock hp pavilion dv5

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

HP DV6000 Won't Charge

The charging process is suspended temporarily because the battery has overheated. My brand new DV5 (3 weeks old) does the same, because it's really hot here.

Turn the laptop off and the battery should charge. Also, when you do not need the battery and are running off the mains, remove it from the laptop. Keeping a battery at 100% wears it 4 times faster than doing regular charge/discharge cycles.

Laptop power connection faulty

Hallow Dear,

As your explanation about Battery issue simply I’m advising you to replace your battery with original one.

But before that there is one thing that you can try it out.

---Use your laptop until battery goes down & shutdown automatically then remove the battery and try to discharge it completely with small bulb manually

When it’s on completely discharge (0 Volt) keep it on Outdoor Sunlight about 12 hours.

After that connect it to your laptop & recharge it completely (until Computer LEDs showing you as Fully Charged)

Until its Showing you as fully charged

That will be nice if you can check Battery Voltage & Amperage manually as it is charged fully before turn on your laptop. (if not you can give more charging time accordingly)

This will not solve your any component (thermal fuse, vRegulate) problems inside your battery but will increase your battery Cells Life and most vStoraging problems on Cells inside your battery

Thank you & Best Regards
