There isn't a black hole in trucks that make things disappear. If it fell into the defroster ducts it's going to take some work to get it out, but I'm sure it's in there somewhere. May have to remove the dashboard and ducts to locate it. It won't be a fun job, but if the ring means that much to you, you don't have much choice.

almost any thing will bring the light on, like if you go get fuel and fill the tank with truck runing it will turn the light on
it does not mean than it is not safe to drive but you need to go to an auto repair and have them conect the scan tool to see what code is present i will recomend to take care of it because with the light on you might notice or get a decrease in gas mileage and fuel is so expensive now

you just have to pull on it a bit, there is clips behind it. they are a little tricky so be careful, but ou have to use a bit of force
