I bought an mp3 player for a friend for Christmas. It worked real well for about 2 wks. I took it back to Walmart where I purchased it, but it had been passed the 15 day exchange period, & I didn't...

Can you give me a brief description of the problem like: not turning on, not playing music or device freezing up?

So that I could tell you what to do or who's to contact.

Thank you!

I want to put music to my MP705 from iTunes

Only ipods can purchase music from itunes. Most of the other mp3 players can put music on them from windows media player, or a different music site like walmart.com, limewire or yahoo. If there is a disk that came with the mp3 player, try to install it on your computer.

Mp3 repair services generally cost more than the player itself -minimum $229.00

Is the computer recognizing that you have an mp3 player plugged in? If not, either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If the pc does recognize the player, and it is not syncing, then the songs you are trying to load are in the wrong format, or your music service subscription has expired/doesn't have high enough rights.

ILO mp3 player stopped working

1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up.

2)
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "ILO 2GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and give you a fresh start.

hi bigmax,
this could be many things.
The reason i suspect is from port speeds.
Most HP computers have different speeds for their ports.
Try putting the USB into a different USB port
This should work.
Also make sure you install any CD's that came with the player.
